Improving the Readership of Your Content

Your website may be home to the most engaging content on the Internet, but if no one is reading what you’ve written, then your content marketing efforts are a waste. While great content naturally attracts readers, you should still take the necessary steps to boost your number of readers. After all, more readers mean a better ROI on your content marketing. With that in mind, here are a few steps you should take:

Promote Your Content

There’s nothing wrong with sharing the link to your latest blog post over Facebook or Twitter. In fact, the practice is highly encouraged. This is especially important when you publish content at a time when your readership is offline. Additionally, the fact that the link is already on social media makes it even easier for readers to share the link with their family and friends.

Trending Topics

Every now and then, try to talk about a trending topic in your area and relate it to the products or services you offer. For example, if the sky dropped a torrent of rain in your area, now would be a good time to talk about how to patch up leaking roofs. The added publicity of a certain topic can initially draw in more readers, setting the stage for them to stay because of your quality content.
